It has always been about the music for me. Its one of my biggest passions and I am regularly complemented in my music taste.
I find one of the secrets to a good music collection is sharing. I love meeting people who have huge music tastes as well sometimes different but that's always a good thing. We usually share music with each other (exchanging external hard drives is most common) and from that you quickly build a good taste in music
So I thought in a effort to share and find new music I would make this thread.
Here's how it works:
-You rate the song from the above poster and post another that you like.
-Only post one (most likely a youtube video) but you can try other websites like myspace, last.com etc.
-Be open to new styles! I used to hate dj music since I am a musician I thought there was no talent they were just butchering other artists but when I actually went to a festival I learned how awesome it can be and its now my favorite type of music
Anyway here is a song I am totally obsessed with at the moment:
If anyone like Daft Punk, a big DJ/Producer Remixed Harder,Better, Faster, Stronger and I havent heard it for a while, but the club I went to played it and rocked the place.
Kinda a trippy video but I dig the beat, I can picture myself getting low and dirty to that at some shitty dance club. I checked out the lyrics and they have depth to them, so that kinda drew me in.
It not really my style but I'll give it 3.5-4/5.
This video is of Victor Wooten from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, its not so much a song as a combination of different melodies from Vic's "Show of Hands" CD.
Basically it is just Victor Wooten shitting all over every bassist in the world saying "Look how fucking good I am." Although I doubt Vic would ever admit that...
Its an amazing video of an amazing musician, and if you play bass, I am sure you will get an extra bit of appreciation from it.
no one's gonna love you is badass. I first heard it on the tv series Chuck. respect for BOH.
this thread could be an ill mother fucker. 3.5/5 for letter p, it's aiite.
Know this music where I'm currently living. This is what we call HYPHY and this is perfect when your having a great time and you got your brohters with you, and then you just go DUMB. Now hyphy is not only a music but a movement that happened here in the BAY AREA.
Those are some tight tracks Tona, i like the too short one a lot...i found this song recently, got a really cool music video, and a real good rap by Raashan Ahmad...called PEACE
wow, apparently no one read the rules for this post. iss all good though.
in all honesty, I didn't get the "tell me when to go", tona. I don't know, it's just not how I see hip hop. but too short was badass. and whitey, that peace joints got a dope beat.
here's a classic krs track from back in the day when all was good in the hood.
haha that sounds like a good time chikito, i can ezzly invisionn myself just having a good time to that shit...thats really what i love about the club scene, its just good music, hopefully good people, and good times
This is a dope beat by kanye west ft. talib kweli & common, damn fine song
Ton, that was... mediocre, for Jay-z. Pretty flat and monotone, and the beat got a little repetitive. I love Jay-z, but that song really didn't do it for me. 2.5/5
This is P.O.S., a rapper/punk rocker from Minneapolis. He started out playing just punk rock, and hating on hip-hop, but came to love it.
His punk roots are pretty obvious in most of his songs, particularly on his last album, which is where this song's from.
Nothing gets you pumped up like a constant drum roll.
